Google Wave

Overview

Google Wave is the new paradigm in collaborative working.

Let’s be clear Wave is not Twitter, it’s not Facebook, it’s not LinkedIn and it’s probably not like anything you’ll have seen before.

Wave promises to revolutionize the way people work together, offering real time content sharing, communication and collaboration. If you’re anything like us once you’ve tried it you’ll never want to work without it.

You can login using your Google account or sign up for FREE right now and join in our interactive demonstration on the night.

Review

With a promise of how Google Wave was going to revolutionise how we communicate and collaborate, we had a sizeable audience for this event. Elaine started by explaining the concept behind Wave and gave some examples of its use. We’ve actually been using it for a while ourselves. The real-time collaboration, which is one of the best features, means that it is ideal for the MacBites Show Notes.

As part of the event, a Wave was embedded inside a web page on the MacBites website, so participants were able to “get hands-on” and see for themselves the benefits of Google Wave.

As always there were plenty of questions and discussion.

The North West Adobe User Group (NWAG) has been supporting the Adobe Community since 2007. The aim of the Group is to provide learning, networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities for users of Adobe products. To facilitate this we run monthly meetings and social events (both online and “in person”), as well as providing tips and tricks via the website. There is no charge to attend our meetings.

The Group is managed by Elaine Giles (Group Manager) and Mike Thomas (Co-Manager), both long-time users of Adobe products and IT professionals.
