In previous versions of Dreamweaver creating a Site Definition was a process fraught with difficult questions. With Dreamweaver CS5 Adobe have massively simplified the creation of Site Definitions.

The Site section of the Site Setup dialog box requires only two pieces of information, as follows:

(1) A name for the site.

(2) The location of the folder containing the site files on the local machine.

Those are the only settings a simple site definition requires.

Advanced Settings

In the event that the site requires more than simple HTML pages the Advanced Settings (1) will need to be completed, a topic for another tutorial.
